The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Myanmar proudly launches the "Feasibility Study on the German Supply Chain Act in Myanmar - Focus on the Garment Industry".
The study focuses on the German Supply Chain Act which aims to improve the protection of human rights and environmental risks in global supply chains. The Act will come into force for large German companies from 2023.
This feasibility study examines the Act and analyzes the individual requirements it imposes not only on German companies, but also on Myanmar companies. The aim of the study is to provide a recommended course of action to support suppliers from Myanmar in implementing supply chain protection. The relevance for suppliers from Myanmar and the list of requirements and obligations are further highlighted in the study.
The study is based on expert interviews and a survey among local garment manufacturers, certifiers, German fashion companies, German and Myanmar business associations, local suppliers and experts from human and environmental rights organizations.
